John Frobisher was a British civil servant who served as the Permanent Secretary to the Home Office during the late 2000s.

Early life and career[]
Born in Glasgow in 1958, he was educated at Gordonstoun and read PPE at Oxford. He joined the Civil Service in 1980 and subsequently served in many positions within the Home Office, including Director General for Schools and under-secretary at the Crime Reduction and Community Secretary Group. As Permanent Secretary, he chaired the Home Office Board and sat on the Civil Service Steering Board, a board which sought to set the overall direction of the Civil Service. He had a particular interest in leadership development, and was a member of the Senior Leadership Committee. (TOR: "Children of Earth: Day Three")
