Ministry of Defence

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) was the department of the United Kingdom government responsible for the coordination of the country's armed forces, including the Royal Navy, the British Army, the Royal Air Force, and the Royal Marines. The department was headed by the Minister of Defence. Active during the late 20th century and the 21st century, the Ministry of Defence was the successor to the War Office.
